Origin Coffee Roastery
The owners of Origin Coffee Roastery are on a continental coffee crusade.  With coffee beans sourced from 22 origins, the dynamic partnership behind the concept have personally met almost every grower and been to farms in Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia in order to bring Cape Town up to the world-class standards it already attains in its food and wine industries. Origin offers Barista training in an effort to raise the standard of coffee consumption and appreciation in the country, as well as the demand for their own product, which can be gleefully sampled in the industrial inspired converted warehouse space in De Waterkant Village.  One of their current projects underway is creating a 70m2 Tea House as a temple of tea appreciation for their 100 varieties of imported teas.  We swooned over their flat white cappuccino’s and devoured their dark bitter chocolate with our eyes whilst loving the frenetic atmosphere of this inner-city shrine of that hot and dark bitter liquid that keeps us all sane.

Loading Bay
Loading Bay is a stunning addition to De Waterkant Village.  With slate-grey interiors and retro furnishings, the aesthetics speak volumes about the product, which includes sexy coffees, sexy platters, sexy imported beers and an even sexier location.  With an accent on urban chic and duplicity often found in De Waterkant, Loading Bay even houses a retail clothing line on a raised mezzanine level bordering the restaurant.  We loved the progressive interiors and the chilled vibe.
